Gamara!

Well, allright it's Myrtle, not Gamara. And she doesn't breathe fire and fly about, she swims about and eats lettuce - Romaine lettuce. As I mentioned earlier, when I went to the Aquarium on Tuesday I was kindly allowed to feed Myrtle.

And there were penguins, which I understand are all the rage nowadays.

UPDATE: I've moved! New digs are at Obscurorant 2.0!

Rebel Rebel

Hanging Tree

So I bought me a new camera, to replace my ancient Powershot gone MIA, which happens to be much more camera than I've ever owned before - namely a Cannon SLR, a Rebel to be exact. I bought it slighty used, from the good folks at Bromfield Camera who really should be taking care of your photography needs, digital or otherwise, if you're in the Boston area.

On the minus side is the fact that the camera can do more than I am currently capable of wringing from it. On the plus side is that I tend to operate on the notion that if you're going to buy any kind of gear, buy the good shite, take care of it and make it last. My last, very primitive, camers was in service for five-odd years. I figure I can get ten outta thos one, and along the way learn to how to best utilize all it's capable of.

Anyhoo, I took some snaps at World's End today just by way of acquainting myself with the new bit. This was one of the few worth keeping.

Running through the Dog Days

August was one a hell of a busy month. It started with Heather's birthday and then went on to encompass the Bunny's bachelor party, my cousin Stephen's wedding and the Bunny's wedding.

Somewhere along the line my camera decided enough was enough and took it on the lam. I don't miss the camera - it was five years old and due for a replacement - but I had some good pictures in it from the afore-mentioned. Sadly, you'll all have to make due with the contents of my cell phone camera.

You know what I would like to do? Rent a cottage on one of the Boston Harbor islands for a weekend. Is that possible? If not, I'll go find a lighthouse somewhere. New England is a full of them, and either way, it'll make for a different kind of weekend getaway.

Some Days in the Life

I finally downloaded the pictures in my camera and put them up at Flickr. They range in time from last summer, to New Year's, and on through St. Patrick's Day. Enjoy the silliness.

From the Big Apple

Here are my pictures from New York. I should note that because I have the bad habit of forgetting I'm carrying a camera, there aren't many of them and they're all from Saturday night. And you probably don't know the people in the photos. But hey, go ahead and look.
